About PhoneBox

PhoneBox is a seamless and simple-to-use service that enables you to backup all of the data on your device and access it whenever you need to. This ensures that all of your information is kept safe and secure in the event of losing or changing your device.
PhoneBox lets you backup the contacts from your address book (phone contacts and SIM card contacts), call logs, SMSes, calender, pictures, videos, sound files and any file in your phone's memory or memory card.
To sign up, simply click here.
From the website: • Simply click on the link to download the App from Google Play or the App Store.
From Google Play or the App Store: • Search for PhoneBox on Google Play (Android) or the App Store (Apple) and select Install.
• Once the App is installed, enter your username and password, and you will be ready to get started.
• To manage the content backed up to your PhoneBox profile, log in to the Content Management System. Click here to log in now.

Mobile App

Log in with the username and password that was sent to you in the welcome email and SMS.
• After logging in to the mobile App on your device, select Backup from the menu options.
• Select Contacts from the Backup options.
• Your contacts will then back up. Once your backup is complete, you can view your contacts on the Content Management System.
• After logging in to the mobile App on your device, select Backup from the menu options.
• Select Call Log from the Backup menu options.
• Your call log will then back up. Once your backup is complete, you can view your call log on the Content Management System.
* Call log backup is not available on iOS.
• After logging in to the mobile App on your device, select Backup from the menu options.
• Select SMS from the Backup menu options.
• Your SMSs will then back up. Once your backup is complete, you can view your SMSs on the Content Management System.
* SMS log backup is not available on iOS.
• After logging in to the mobile App on your device, select Backup from the menu options.
• Select Calendar from the Backup menu options
• Your events will then back up. Once your backup is complete, you can view your calendar and event details on the Content Management System.
• After logging in to the mobile App on your device, select Backup from the menu options.
• Select File from the Backup menu options.
• Select the file that you want to back up. You can only back up one file at a time.
• Your file will then back up. Once your backup is complete, you can view your files on the Content Management System.
* File backup is not not available on iOS.
• After logging in to the mobile App on your device, select Backup from the menu options.
• Select Photos from the Backup menu options.
• Select the photos that you wish to back up. Click Ok.
• Your photos will then back up. Once your backup is complete, you can view your gallery on the Content Management System.
• With our effective Scheduler, you can easily schedule your backups to happen at the times that suit you best.
• After logging in to your PhoneBox App, select Scheduler from the menu options.
• Select the days on which you would like to schedule your backups by switching the buttons next to the relevant days from white to pink.
• Tracking is automatically enabled on the App.
• To restore the content of your Phonebox profile to a new device, install the PhoneBox App onto your new device.
• Log in to the mobile App, and select Restore from the menu options.
• Select the device that you wish to restore from.
• Select the elements that you wish to restore from the menu. Your Contacts, SMSs, Call Logs or Calendar to your new device based on what you have chosen.
• Please note, when you are restoring contacts you can choose whether you would like to restore all contacts or only updated contacts.
• To change your password on the PhoneBox App, select Profile from the menu options.
• Type your selected password into the password field, and click Update.
• To change your contact number or email on the PhoneBox App, select Profile from the menu options.
• Type your new contact number or email into the relevant fields, and click Update.
• To find contact details within the App go to the About section.

Content Management System

The PhoneBox Content Management System is an online web portal that enables you to log in to your PhoneBox profile and view and manage all of your backed-up content.
• To log in to the Content Management System, visit the PhoneBox website, click on the Login button, and fill in your details.
Click here to log in now.
• To Log Out, click on the Log Out button on the top right-hand corner.
After logging in to the Content Management System, you will land on your Dashboard. Your Dashboard will give you a view of the following:
Current device:
• This shows the device that is currently in use.
• To change the device, click on the dropdown and select the device that you would like to manage.
Latest backups:
• You can view the date of the last backups of your Contacts, Call Log, SMS Log, Calendar, Files and Gallery respectively.
• Click on the arrow next to each section to view your content.
Stats:
• This is a statistical breakdown of your backed up data.
• A breakdown of the content that you have saved to PhoneBox.
Latest location:
• You can view your last location on the map.
In the My Profile section of the Content Management System you can view and edit:
• Your name
• Your surname
• Your cell phone number
• Your email address
• Your password

You can also view your devices under the My Devices section of your profile, and edit certain details about your device such as the friendly name of your device.
To edit your personal details via your profile:
• Select My Profile from the side menu.
• Update your details, and select Save.
To edit your device details via your profile:
• Select My Profile from the side menu.
• Scroll down to the My Devices section of the page.
• Select Edit next to the device that you want to edit.
• Update your details under the My Devices section, and select Save.
• Please note that you will not be able to change your device’s UDID.
The PhoneBox Self Destruct function can be turned on via the My Profile section of the Content Management System.

Please note, on iOS PhoneBox will not wipe your call log or your SMS log as it has not backed these up.

To turn on Self Destruct:
• Select Self Destruct from the side menu of the Content Management System.
• In the User Device Details section, click on the drop down next to the heading Initiate Self Destruct.
• Select Yes.
• PhoneBox will warn you that if your device is synced with cloud services such as Google or iCloud, your synced data from all shared devices will be removed from these platforms on Self Destruct.
• If you are sure that you would like to enable Self Destruct, select Save.

Or:
• Select My Profile from the side menu of the Content Management System.
• Scroll down to the My Devices section of the page.
• Click the Edit button next to the device on which you want to enable Self Destruct.
• In the User Device Details section, click on the drop down next to the heading Initiate Self Destruct.
• Select Yes.
• PhoneBox will warn you that if your device is synced with cloud services such as Google or iCloud, your synced data from all shared devices will be removed from these platforms on Self Destruct.
• If you are sure that you would like to initiate Self Destruct, select Save.
On the Content Management System you can view, add, export, search and manage your contacts.

To add a contact:
• Select Contacts from the side menu options.
• Click on the Add button on your Contacts page.
• Fill in your contact’s details, and select Save.
• Then, add the contacts number/s for your new contact, and select Save.
• Add the email addresses associated with your new contact, and click Save.

To export your contacts:
• Select Contacts from the side menu options.
• Click on the Export button on your Contacts page.
• Your contacts will then export to your browser as an Excel document. You can find the file containing all your contacts in your downloads.

To search for a specific contact:
• Select Contacts from the side menu options.
• Click on the Filter button on your Contacts page.
• Select the device you would like to use by choosing relevant device from the dropdown next to the Device heading.
• Type in the name, surname, company or number of the contact you are looking for, and select Search.
• To look for another contact, click the Reset button.
• You can edit or delete the contacts that you have searched for.
• Select Contacts from the side menu options.
• Click on the Manage Duplicates button on your Contacts page.
• Choose how you would like to search for duplicate contacts by clicking on the name, surname or contact number.
Search for Duplicates
• PhoneBox will list the duplicate contacts found.
• Click on Show to view the duplicates.
• If you would like to delete a duplicate contact, click the Delete button.
• Select the contacts that you would like to merge by ticking the appropriate boxes next to each duplicate.
• Click on the Merge button.
• You can then edit the name, surname, company, contact number and email addresses of your new merged contact, and click Save.
Search for Duplicates
On the Content Management System you can view your calendar and event details.
• Select Calendar for the side menu options.
• View your calendar by month, week or day by selecting the relevant button at the top right of your calendar.
• View another month, week or day by clicking on the left and right icons at the top right of your calendar.
• To view the details of a specific event, click on the event in your calendar.
• Your event details will be displayed on the right of your screen underneath the Event Details heading.
* Note, on iOS you cannot sync your calendar back from the Content Management system.
On the Content Management System you can view your call log details. You can search for a specific call with the Filter function and export your call log.

To view your call log:
• Select Call Logs for the side menu options.
• View the type of call, the date and time of call, contact number and duration of all your calls.
• To sort, click on the menu item that you wish sort by.

To export your call log:
• Click on the Export button on your Call Logs page.
• Your call log will then export to your browser as an Excel document. You can find the file containing your call log in your downloads.

To search for a specific call:
• Click on the Filter button on your Call Logs page.
• Select the device in the device dropdown.
• Use the dropdown menu in type to choose incoming, outgoing or missed calls.
• Enter the start and end date range within which you wish to search.
• Insert the contact number, and select Search.
• To search for another call, select Reset.
On the Content Management System you can view and manage SMSs and SMS threads.

To view the SMSs backed up to your PhoneBox profile:
• Select SMS Log from the side menu options.
• The SMSs backed up to your PhoneBox profile will be displayed.
• The sender’s name or number will be shown on the left of the page.
• The SMS received will be shown the right of the page.
• You can view a specific SMS thread by clicking on the contact name or number of the SMS.
• In the message thread you can choose which message in the thread you wish to delete by clicking on the Delete button.
* Note, SMS backup is not available on iOS.
On the Content Management System you can view, delete or download your photos.
• Select Gallery from the side menu options.
• To manage your photos hover the mouse over the selected photo.
Manage Photos

• Select View.
• Your photo or file will open in a new tab.
• You can then save the photo.

To download a photo:
• Hover you mouse over the photo.
• Select Download.
• Your photo will download to your browser. You can view your photo in your downloads.

To delete a photo:
• Hover you mouse over the photo.
• Select Delete.
• A pink border will appear around the photo or file that you have selected for deletion.
• You can select multiple images for deletion by clicking on the delete button.
• To remove a selected photo for deletion, click the Undo button.
• All photos selected for deletion will appear with a pink border.
• Click the Delete Image button at the bottom of the page.
On the Content Management System you can download or delete your files.
• Click on the file to download.
• Click the Delete button on the file you wish to delete.
When you enable Self Destruct from the CMS, the following will be wiped from the devices:
• Contacts (iOS and Android)
• Call logs (Android only)
• SMSs (Android only)
• Calendar (Android only)
